Víctor Ospina is an emerging Colombian visual artist whose work spans a variety of media and techniques, exploring the complexities of the human condition. Born in Armenia, Colombia, in 1992, Ospina has developed an artistic practice grounded in strong academic training and a deep passion for the visual arts.
He holds a Master of Arts degree, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, and specialized training in Education and Graphic and Visual Media Development. His artistic practice is informed by the intersection of visual arts, social sciences, and research, resulting in works that examine memory, resilience, and the human condition through a conceptual and multidisciplinary lens.
Ospina has further enriched his academic background through specialized studies in art, leadership, and cultural management. These include a Diploma in Art and Politics from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, a Diploma in Leadership from EAM University Corporation, and diplomas in Cultural Management and Project Design from the National University of Colombia and EAN University.
Throughout his career, Ospina’s work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. Notable solo exhibitions include Víctor Ospina: A View from Cocora Valley at Larson Gallery and The Artwork of Victor Ospina at Seasons Performance Hall in Yakima, Washington, as well as Hipercinético at Museo Hacienda Castilla in Pereira, Colombia.
His group exhibitions include the International Art Congress Exhibition at Art Box Gallery in Zurich, Switzerland, and the INDAI International Art Congress at Angular VR Gallery in Paris, France, among many others.
In addition to his artistic career, Ospina has held significant professional roles, including teaching visual arts and social sciences at Colegio Franciscano San Francisco Solano and serving as Assistant Director of the Museum of Art of Armenia and Quindío (MAQUI).
Throughout his career, Ospina has received numerous awards, recognitions, and scholarships for his artistic achievements and community engagement. Among these are an Honorable Mention as one of Colombia’s Outstanding Art Educators at the Germán Saldarriaga del Valle Award, First Place at the XIX Quindío Artists Salon, and a scholarship from Colombia’s Ministry of Culture to pursue advanced studies in Art and Politics.
Beyond his professional work, Ospina has remained actively involved in community service. He served as President of the Rotaract Club Armenia Palma de Cera of Rotary International, participated as an International Volunteer with AIESEC, and currently serves, by invitation, on the Board of Directors of Larson Gallery, an art gallery affiliated with Yakima Valley College. His commitment to art, education, and community engagement reflects his dedication to social development and cultural enrichment.
Currently based in Washington State, United States, Ospina continues to expand his artistic practice and international presence. Through his work, he seeks to foster meaningful dialogue around resilience, memory, and human experience, engaging audiences across cultural and geographic boundaries.
